Free School Meals

The approximate percentage of children entitled to a free school meal but not registered to have one is 20%.  Make sure you are not missing out.

Please download the Benefits for children at school document for your reference.

Eating a healthy school meal will give your child a real appetite for learning and help them to achieve their full potential and have better concentration in class.  If your child is eligible it means that they can enjoy delicious, healthy meals without the bills and the fuss of making packed lunches.

Savings for your family

If you are currently paying for your child’s school meals, you could make a saving of around £420 per year if your child qualifies for free school meals.

Our school will receive extra funding

For every child registered for a free school meal, the school will receive money to spend on extra resources.  It is called the Pupil Premium and is worth over £1000 per child.  This can be spent on enriching your child’s learning by providing help with things such as school trips and revision materials.  Registering your child for Free School Meals will therefore bring in more money to school to help your child achieve.  Even if you don’t want your child to have the school meals, if they qualify and are registered, the school still gets £1000.
