CAFOD Walk - March 2023

 The children of Notre Dame walked 2 miles to raise funds for Cafod. Thank you to everyone who took part. It was a joyous and happy time to walk around in the sunshine for such a worthwhile cause.

Year 6 Class Mass - March 2023

 Year 6 held their Class Mass. They read and sang beautifully about the theme of the Mass which was Gifts and Talents. Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended.

NSPCC - February 2023

 The NSPCC came and filmed the children for the promotion of their Childhood Challenge Mile which takes place in June. They photos and filming will be used on the NSPCC website as well as in their promotional and social media sites.

What an amazing opportunity for the children.

Christmas Mass - December 2022

 The children celebrated their Christmas in St. Joseph's Church. The children read clearly and sang many Christmas carols  beautifully and with enthusiasm.  

Year 6 - National Gallery - December 2022

 Year 6 visited the National Gallery to look at Religious Art. The children looked in detail at three different paintings of the Nativity scene and discussed the significance of the people in the scene and what the artist was trying to put across to his audience. Walking back to the station we passed through Trafalgar square and took a picture of the Christmas tree from Norway which is sent annually as a thank you to our country.

Advent Service - December 2022

The Prayer Heroes attended the Advent Service at St. George's Cathedral. It was a beautiful start to the season of Advent with joyful singing and the Nativity story being acted.

Catholic Social Teaching - November 2022

The children took part in a Catholic Social teaching workshop delivered by Cafod. 

They learned about the principles of CST and how they can apply these in their daily lives. 

The children discussed the principles that they use regularly at school and how these impact on other people

Remembrance Day - November 2022

 

Harvest Festival - October 2022

We held our Harvest Festival in school to thank God for the food and all the people who make it possible to have this wonderful food. All classes sang a song and the children read from every class. It truly was a thankful and joyous occasion and we thank all those parents who came and joined in with our celebration.

St George's Cathedral - September 2022

 Some of our Prayer Heroes attended the Welcome to the New School Mass held at St. George's Cathedral.

It was a most beautiful Mass celebrated by Bishop John Wilson and many schools from the Southwark Diocese attended.

 The family of Notre Dame welcomed Father Hyacinth to celebrate our New school year Mass. It was a joyous occasion with some wonderful singing.

 Father Hyacinth blessed the sashes for the Prayer Heroes and they were presented with them during the celebration of Mass.

The New Prayer Heroes for this academic year were selected by the outgoing Prayer Heroes. An application form had to be completed and then the new Prayer Heroes were chosen.

Easter Mass - March 2022

The children all celebrated the feast of Easter in school with a Mass led by Fr Seba.

It was a most joyous occasion with beautiful singing, excellent readers and the school band played the hymns.

Ash Wednesday - March 2022

Today we celebrated Ash Wednesday Mass in school via zoom. Father distributed ashes to all of the children in the school. The children sang and read beautifully. It was a fantastic start to our Lenten journey.

CAFOD Fundraising

On Monday 7th March the school will participating in a whole school walk to raise money for CAFOD's 'Walk Against Hunger'.

Year 6 Dance - February 2022

Year 6 created a dance to illustrate what it means to be in communion with Jesus.  They included the school values and then presented to the class.

As part of the Year 6 RE curriculum, the children worked in groups to create a short Collective Worship based on the learning of this half term. They then went to KS1 to deliver the Collective worship to the classes.

Christmas Mass - December 2021

The school celebrated their Christmas Mass with Fr. Seba. It was a joyful and happy celebration where many children took part, either reading or playing the final hymn in the band.

Year 4 Class Service - December 2021

Year 4 held a class service in the hall for the parents. It was a beautiful celebration and the many parents who attended thought that it was lovely. The singing and the readers were amazing! Well done Year 4

Poppies

The children have created poppies using recycled plastic bottles. They are on display at the entrance to the school as well as in the Garden of Peace.

Father Seba - October 2021

Year 6 had a visit from Fr Seba to ask him questions about being a priest. This was part of the RE curriculum called Vocations and Commitment. The children had prepared questions in advance and they learned so much about the journey to become a priest as well as what life is like being a priest on a daily basis.

Church Display

The School has good links with the Parish and has updated its board in the church Foyer. This showcases all the good activities and learning that takes place within the school and encourages the parishioners to be more aware of Notre Dame school.

Prayer Garden

Our Garden of Peace is beginning to take shape and the Prayer Heroes laid all of the pebbles that every child wrote a school value on, around Our Lady of Notre Dame.  They then planted and watered plants to put around the garden. What a start to our Garden of Peace.

Welcome back to School Mass September 2021

The school celebrated the new school year with Mass in the hall. Two classes attended and the other classes celebrated via zoom. The readers and the singing were wonderful. Thank you to Governors and parents who also joined us.

YEAR 6 LEAVERS MASS JULY 2021 GALLERY

Year 6 celebrated their Leaver's Mass in school and  this was relayed to parents via zoom. Fr. Seba celebrated the Mass and the children participated with readings, prayers and songs. It was a joyous occasion.

Summer Term 2020

Year 6 celebrated their year 6 leaver's Mass in their bubbles using Zoom.

 

It was a little different this year but all children were pleased to have this opportunity to have Mass for the final time with their friends.

Lent 2020

All classes have a focal point in the classroom  for prayer and reflection. During Lent, purple is used to reflect the Liturgical season of the Catholic Church.

 

 

Ash Wednesday 26.02.2020

 

During our Ash Wednesday Service, the school band played for the first time and accompanied us during the singing. This was fantastic and encouraged the children to sing and fully participate in the service.

The children arrived at school wearing their Christmas jumpers to raise money for save the Children. They all looked wonderful.

 

Advent 2019

Year 6 represented Notre Dame at the annual Advent Service in St. George's Cathedral. Archbishop John Wilson addressed the children and the story of the Nativity was told. It was a calm and spiritual experience for all
