Welcome to the new school year Mass
Notre Dame held a " Welcome to the New School Year Mass" in the school.
The children participated through the readings, offertory, altar serving and singing beautifully.
Thank you to Fr Seba for celebrating the Mass with us
Mass at St.Josephs Church
KS2 attended morning Mass at St. Joseph's Church followed by the Stations of the Cross led by the children.
The children were reflective throughout and the parishioners commented on their behaviour as well as saying how lovely the service was.
Year 4 and Year 3 performed their Liturgical dance in front of parents and KS2.
It was extremely reflective and spiritual and provided the children with a different way to pray and to praise Jesus.
All parents were complimentary about the children and enjoyed this short performance
At Notre Dame, we like to celebrate different faiths and cultures to support the children in learning respect and tolerance.
We had a Diwali dance workshop in which all children participated. We ended the day with a performance for the whole school and the parents.
Every child had a smile on their face and enjoyed this experience.

Visit from Rabbi
As part of our learning about other faiths. we invited Rabbi Rose from the Catford synagogue into the school to deliver an assembly on Judaism.
The focus was on similarities and differences between Judaism and Christianity. We all learned lots of information and can take this new learning back to our classes to support our " Other Faiths" learning.

Notre Dame held it's annual Harvest festival which was attended by many parents.
The children this year collected food for the local Greenwich Foodbank. The prayer Heroes delivered this to the food bank to see exactly how this charity works.
Thank you for all the contributions and a big thank you to all those children who read and took part in the celebration.
CAFOD Visit 2018
We collected money at Notre Dame for Cafod as part of our Lenten charity.
We went to visit Cafod at Romero House in London to present the cheque in person. We were given a tour of the workings of Cafod and learned what happens to our money once it has been given to Cafod in London. We met the director as well as David who gave us a guided tour along with Mark Scully.
We learned so much about all the good work that this charity does to help those in need.
Once back in school we will deliver a whole school assembly on our day, to share our findings with all who contributed to Cafod this Lent.

The children who visited Cafod at Romero House recently delivered an assembly to the whole school on what they learned that day about Cafod and more importantly, where the money that all the children raised went to.
They showed a presentation which showed a cheque being presented to Cafod on behalf of all the children at Notre Dame.
